A diamond plate refers to a plate with a raised pattern on one side. The dominant pattern features raised diamond shapes that alternate in sequence with either a glossy or matte surface texture. The glossy finish is due to the aluminum, which is available in two primary grades: 3003 and 6061
3003 Aluminum Diamond Plate has moderate strength, good corrosion resistance, and good formability. Aluminum 3003 is used for outdoor applications.
While 6061 Aluminum can be welded easily, it is not malleable and used for general-purpose applications.
