The A36 round bar is hot-rolled and has structural quality, which is optimal for construction applications.
Similarly to 1018, the 1045 round bar can be hot-rolled or cold-finished. However, in applications where greater strength is required, 1045 is a better option. 1045 round bars can be used in gears, shafts, axles, or machine parts.
The 4140 round bar and 4150 round bar are medium carbon steels- truly general-purpose alloys. Good hardening, strength, and toughness.
