ASTM A36 steel plate is one of the most widely used grades of carbon. A36 steel is low-carbon, but still incredibly strong and is easy to weld and machine. An A36 steel plate is commonly used for construction.
ASTM A572 plate provides a higher strength-to-weight ratio than A36. Industries use A572 in applications that require high strength, such as railroads and construction.
AR400 plate is durable and has good corrosion resistance, bending, and weldability. However, AR400 is harder to machine than A36 or A572.
