We have shearing capabilities in multiple divisions. We can shear cut your sheet and plate from 20 GA through 3/4″ thick material in our Chattanooga Division.
Our Chattanooga Division also has a 20′ long shear capable of shear cutting 3/16″ -3/4″ plate. We utilize both mechanical and hydraulic shearing equipment.

Benefits of Shear Cutting
The metal shearing process uses a scissor-like angular action to cut metal into smaller sheets or strips. Shearing provides for straight-line cuts on flat sheet or plate stock. Shear cutting stainless, carbon, and aluminum sheet or plate is best when cutting square or rectangular blanks that allow for a sheared edge. This can also be a good process for cutting rectangular strips. Our shears are both hydraulic and mechanical.
