Tread plate, also known as checker plate, floor plate, and diamond plate, is a flat-rolled product that has a regularly repeating pattern of raised diamonds. Tread plate is commonly used for anti-slip flooring in industrial applications due to the extra traction the treads provide. Aluminum tread plate is commonly used in truck and trailer applications not only for its anti-slip properties but also for its aesthetics.
Tread plate is stocked in carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
