Square tube is a hollow tube with all side dimensions being equal. Square tube is also referred to as “HSS” or “box section” due to its shape. Square tubing is available in carbon and alloy steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Square tube is used in a variety of applications from structural supports to ornamental requirements.

Square tube commonly runs in size from ½” x ½” x 16 ga wall– 18” x 18” x 5/8” wall. Carbon steel tube lengths run through 60 feet while stainless steel square tube commonly runs at 20 feet in length with some sizes available in 40-foot lengths. Aluminum square tube runs anywhere from 20-foot, 21’1”, and 24-foot lengths depending upon the alloy. Carbon and stainless steel square tubing is usually produced by running strip coil through a tube mill which is formed and welded in a continuous cycle through a series of dies. If required, we can provide custom large stainless square tube that is mill produced. Aluminum square tube is extruded.

We can saw cut your square tube or take advantage of our multi-axis tube laser cutting or multi-axis structural plasma burning centers for intricate and precise custom processing per your drawing.
